Nacogdoches Historic Sites invites the community to take a step back in time at the Historic Skills Fair, happening Saturday, November 1st, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Durst-Taylor Historic House & Gardens (304 North St.). This free, family-friendly event offers a unique opportunity to explore life on a 19th-century farmstead through a variety of demonstrations and activities.
Visitors will have the chance to see and engage with traditional skills and crafts that were essential to daily life in the mid-1800s. Demonstrations may include everything from traditional crafts and textile work to old-fashioned methods of food preparation and preservation. You might even hear the lively sounds of period music filling the grounds!
Whether you're a history enthusiast or just looking for a fun and educational outing, the Historic Skills Fair offers something for all ages. Come learn, explore, and connect with the heritage of Nacogdoches.
Stay tuned for more details about the featured demonstrations as the event approaches!
