Historic Petersburg Garden Tour

Please join Caritas Circle of The King’s Daughters for a bus trip to historic Petersburg during Virginia’s Garden Club Week.

7:45 A.M. Arrive at Bayside Baptist Church located at 1920 Pleasure House Road in Virginia Beach. Please park in the back parking lot in the last row of spaces by the open field or on the grass behind them.

8:00 A.M. The bus leaves promptly for Petersburg, Virginia. A light morning snack will be served. Please bring your own coffee if desired. Bottled water will be provided.

10:00 A.M. Arrive at Historic Blandford Church. Built in 1736 it is on both the Virginia Landmarks Register and the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and features Louis Comfort Tiffany stained glass windows.

11:30 A.M. Enjoy lunch at The Brickhouse Run pub and restaurant located in Old Towne Petersburg. The two buildings that make up the restaurant are approximately 190 years old and feature exposed beams, a fireplace and high backed settles.

12:45 P.M. Return to the bus for the short ride to the Garden Tour locations.

1:00 P.M. Begin touring the lovely homes and gardens that are participating in the Garden Week tour. In celebration of its centennial the Petersburg Garden Club has arranged a tour of homes that date from 1792 to 1892 and range in style from Federal to Queen Anne. All homes are located in the High Street Area - one of Petersburg’s most historic neighborhoods. There are four homes and two gardens to visit. In addition to the homes you might stop for tea and homemade cookies at the FOLAR (Friends of the Lower Appomattox River) building that is close to one of the tour houses.

Please note that although some trolleys may be available for transit between homes and gardens, we should be prepared for some walking on the tour.

4:30 P.M. Depart for Virginia Beach with complimentary wine and cheese served on the trip back.

6:15 P.M. Approximate arrival in Virginia Beach.

Trip Price: $170 per person, which includes motor coach transportation, admission fees and lunch. There will be a fifty/fifty raffle. Early Bird Incentive – sign up by April 1, 2025 to have your name entered into a drawing for a $50 Primo restaurant gift card.
