Join SOCAL Plein Air and Plein Air Ventura County to paint at The House of the Book at the Brandeis Campus in Simi Valley on Sunday April 6th from 10:30-2. This historic site holds cultural significance to the Jewish community of the greater Los Angeles area. You need to RSVP in advance so we can share your name with security to allow access to the campus. We will have access to the building and bathrooms as well. The House of the Book was designed for the institution in 1973 by architect Sidney Eisenshtat. The largest hall on Brandeis
campus, the futuristic, cylindrical building serves as a performance hall and has moonlighted as a location for sci-fi productions, most memorably “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country”. The corridors and breakout rooms are highlighted by stained glass windows designed by alumni Jerry Novorr.
We have permission to be on the campus to paint but we are asking that all artists leave the area in the way we found it so pls bring appropriate materials to protect the environment.
