Hippocratic Tree and Statue Dedication for Dr. Maniscalco

Join ForHearts Worldwide and BayCare Foundation as we dedicate the Hippocratic Tree and Statue in memory of Dr. Benedict S. Maniscalco.
For decades, Dr. Maniscalco put patients first. A pioneering cardiologist, he founded the St. Joseph's Heart Institute, taught and mentored generations of physicians, and led Heartbeat International Foundation Inc., now ForHearts Worldwide, in bringing lifesaving cardiovascular care to people in need around the world.
A rare, grafted seedling of the Kos Plane tree, recalling the tree where Hippocrates is said to have taught his students, has already taken root at St. Joseph's Hospital. On October 29 it will be joined by a statue of Hippocrates, commissioned from an artist in Greece, as a lasting tribute to the ideals Dr. Maniscalco lived by.
The statue will represent those ideals. The Benedict S. Maniscalco, M.D. Legacy Fund will put them into action, helping uninsured and underinsured cardiovascular patients here in Tampa Bay receive the care they need. Donors will be recognized at the dedication.
This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome: family, friends, colleagues, former patients, and our Pacemaker Club community.
Can't be there? You can still honor his legacy:
