It was so much fun we had to do it again. This year our competition had 50% of people who had never played before and another 30% of people who hadn't touched a ball in 10 years. Every team was brilliant, with the novice teams becoming increasingly difficult to beat. The eventual winner - Research Garage - only just scraped home but did claim the trophy in its inaugural year by playing some superb fleet of foot walking rugby. MOM for Research was Michelle Barnes who had never been near a rugby field in her life but played every game! Tbf however there were many MOMs on the day so please comeback next year!To maintain the spirit of the 1st year we are definitely maintaining the fun team competition for corporate or internal teams as well as introduce a club competition to support the growth of our own Hinckley Hares as other club teams who are interested.
Teams will minimum of 7 and a maximum of 10. Team donations of £70 seem appropriate so we can support our charity of choice (collection details to follow). The fact that some of us may need that help makes it even more poignant we keep raising the cash!
Walking Rugby is key part of the rugby set up at Hinckley RFC and long shall it be so.
