Sisters Hina & Fiona, born to Japanese and French Vietnamese parents and raised in New York, train the spotlight on a scintillating combination of works for two violins. The duo’s unison playing, wrote BBC Music Magazine in its review of their debut album, ‘could almost fool you into thinking that you were listening to a single player’. For their Wigmore Hall debut, the siblings direct their near-telepathic understanding to a programme crowned by Miklós Rózsa’s Sonata for Two Violins, flavoured with heady Hungarian folksong-infused themes. Part of the Pentatone 25th Anniversary Festival.
