'Hilsea Through a Lens' Photography Walk
About this Event
Event Overview
Discover Hilsea in a whole new way with Hilsea Through a Lens — a monthly photography walk series created in collaboration between Community Spotlight CIC and Pompey Darkroom, part of the Hilsea Station Adoption Events Programme for 2026.
Our fifth walk takes place on Saturday 27th June 2026, starting at 11am from Hilsea Station, and will be led by Pompey Darkroom and Community Spotlight CIC. This isn’t just a wander with cameras — it’s a chance to slow down, look closer, and explore how photography can tell the story of a place.
Unlike many drop-in photo walks, this experience is intentionally small, guided and creative. Our Walk Leaders will gently prompt ways of seeing, offer practical tips, and support anyone who feels a bit rusty with their camera or unsure where to start. If you’ve got a camera you haven’t used in a while, this is the perfect excuse to dust it off — but phones and any other devices are just as welcome.
You don’t need to bring anything special or have technical knowledge. This walk is about curiosity, confidence, and enjoying photography at your own pace in a relaxed, supportive environment. The £5 ticket helps subsidise professional facilitation and supports Community Spotlight CIC’s wider community work in Hilsea.
Whether you’re a beginner, returning to photography, or simply want to see Hilsea differently, this walk offers something more than just a stroll — it’s about connection, creativity, and discovering the extraordinary in the everyday.
All abilities welcome.
