As part of Bristol Walk Fest 2026, we are taking a gentle stroll around the historic landmarks of Hillfields!Learn about the first social housing estate in Britain from Larry Bennett, a local historian who grew up in Hillfields in the 1960s and 70s.
Saturday 9th May 1pm to 2pm.
Start and Finish Point: Outside Hillfields Park Community Centre BS16 4EH - toilets available.
1-2km walk, gentle pace with stops (no benches).
Suitable for buggies and mobility wheels.
Open to all but this is not aimed at children.
Assistance dogs only please.
Suggested donation for the organisers Hillfields Community Garden - £5 per adult. Under 18's are free
Opportunity to buy Larry's book for £5 - bring cash or card.
Larry Bennett is a well established historian specialising in familial connections of the local schools and landmarks of Hillfields up to the mid 1980's. There isn't much about Hillfields that he doesn't know much about!
