Hiking with Your Dog: Flip-Flop Kickoff 2025

Section hikers Maria Wishart and her dog, Boots, present this workshop on how to prepare your dog for hiking, proper etiquette/manners when hiking with your dog, Leave No Trace principles and extra care considerations for your canine companion when heading out into the wilderness. 

Together, Maria “Wheezy-Pee,” and Boots have thousands of Trail miles under their feet. They hike together through all seasons, from local day hikes to extended backpacking trips. In this workshop, Maria will cover everything you need to know to keep you and your pup safe on the Trail. She’ll also cover the basics of dog body language to help when encountering other dogs on the A.T.
