Interested in experiencing the European Camino for one of the most known Catholic pilgrimages!Plans are underway for a new spiritual and/or physical adventure, hiking section of the Costal Camino De Santiago (Way of Saint James) starting from Porto-Portugal via Porto Cathedral and ending by the border of Spain at Caminha or possibly crossing the Minho River to A-Guarda, Spain.
Physical & Mental Preparations:
Get fit and plan on after mid-night start with a high pace walk/hike (3-4 miles/hour) for about 15-17 consecutive hours (breaks will be limited).
Details:
Start time: May 29th. @ between 2:30 - 3:00 AM.
Meeting Place: Porto Cathedral, Portugal.
Route: The Costal Camino.
Ending Point: Caminha or A-Guarda, Spain.
Distance: 50-60 miles.
Expected Moving Time: 15-17 hours.
Elevation: +/- 700 ft, mostly flat.
You will have the option to either stay overnight in Caminha or catch the last train back to Porto @ 8:49 pm.
