Join the JSU Field School the 1st Friday and 3rd Saturday of every month in 2025 for a guided hike. We’ll discuss the plants, animals, and natural history of the area as we hike the trails. Get ready for an unforgettable outdoor adventure! Join us for a guided 2-mile hike through the stunning Canyon Mouth Park in the Little River National Preserve. In celebration of Fee Free Day on April 19th, all national parks are offering free admission, so there's no better time to explore the beauty of nature without any cost. As you hike along the breathtaking CMP Trail, you'll be surrounded by scenic views and diverse wildlife. Afterward, take some time to relax and explore the incredible recreational area, making this day one to remember. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to connect with nature!"
Please wear footwear suitable for hiking. Bring water, sun protection and possibly a snack.

This is an easy to moderate level hike with varying and uneven terrain. Children and dogs are welcome.
WEATHER: As with all outdoor events, if it's raining/stormy or very poor trail conditions, we may have to cancel. If the weather is questionable, please check with the Canyon Center.

Meet us at the Little River Canyon Center at 10:00 AM CDT. From there, we’ll caravan to the trailhead together. Alternatively, you can meet us directly at Canyon Mouth Park at 10:30 AM CDT.
