Details: At Takelma Gorge, the Rogue River squeezes into the narrow defile and is not very happy about it, seething and roiling in spectacular camera-friendly fashion. Now, we've hiked to the gorge like a million times before but this time, we are going to change it up a bit by hiking straight through to North Fork Dam.Driving time: 2 hours, 30 minutes

Difficulty level: Moderate
Distance: 10.0 miles
Elevation range: 2980 feet to 2600
Elevation gain: -Loss of 380 feet
Pluses: The Upper Rogue River, and the geologic wonder that is Takelma Gorge. There should still be some fall colors along the trail.
Minuses: Inclement weather could rear its ugly wet head this time of year.

On the day of the hike: Meet at 8 am in the Douglas County Courthouse parking lot off of Fowler St., right behind the library building.
Bring water, lunch, and appropriate clothing for hiking.
If you are riding with somebody, be prepared to share gas expenses with your driver.
Please do not attend if you feel sick, are coughing, or have a fever.
The club hikes every other Saturday, rain or shine. Hiking is free, everybody is welcome.
