Set out on the trail to explore the Bay Area’s best kept secret: a 40 foot, beachfront waterfall that cascades directly into the Pacific Ocean!
Alamere Falls is one of the coolest sights in Point Reyes National Seashore, and 13-mile our hike starts at the least used trailhead in the entire park. In addition to the more secluded nature of the Palomarin trailhead, we’ll have fantastic views of the Farallon Islands, 30 miles out to sea! The dramatic Pacific coast provides the perfect backdrop for Alamere Creek as it tumbles over several smaller, stair step falls before culminating in a 40-foot plunge to the beach. This is one of only 4 tidefalls (waterfalls that flow directly into the ocean) in the U.S.
