Our reward for walking severak miles through a lush coastal forest is a rugged coastal point between Floras Lake and Cape Blanco. The view is epic from the top of the coastal bluffs overlooking jagged Blacklock Point.Driving time: 2 hours, 30 minutes

Entry or parking fee: $5 per vehicle
Hiking route: This will be an out and back hike beginning from the north end of Floras Lake to Blacklock Point and back.
Difficulty level: Moderate
Distance: 8 miles
Elevation gain: 180 feet
Pluses: A first-rate mix of beach and coastal forest hiking, astounding views from Blacklock Point. Not much uphill walking involved, the route is mostly level.
Minuses: This hike is all about the views, and if its foggy or rainy, those views may be limited. There'll be some beach and sand hiking to get those leg muscles burning.

On the day of the hike: Meet at 8 am at the Courthouse parking lot on Fowler Street, between the courthouse and library.
Bring water, lunch, and appropriate clothing for hiking.
If you are riding with somebody, be prepared to share gas expenses with your driver.
The club hikes every other Saturday, rain or shine. Hiking is free, everybody is welcome.
