Prepare yourself for a royally delightful afternoon of tea, scones and historical romance!Costume drama all-star Keira Knightley stars as glamorous eighteenth century aristocrat Georgiana Spencer, Duchess of Devonshire.
Married at a young age to the much older Duke of Devonshire (Ralph Fiennes), Georgiana becomes a fashion icon and darling of the common people. Determined to become a major player in affairs of state, she rises to the forefront of the Whig Party and helps usher in reform in late-1700s England.
But, trapped in an unhappy triangle with the Duke and his mistress (Hayley Atwell), it seems the one thing she cannot do is win the heart of her husband and soon her search for love becomes increasingly desperate. When she begins an affair with an ambitious young politician (Dominic Cooper), a scandal erupts that threatens to ruin her forever.
