High School Spelling Bee

Dear Brooklyn Students and Parents:

We invite you/your child to participate in the Temple of Restoration's Helping Hands Ministry upcoming High School Spelling Bee, which will be held on Saturday October 4, 2025 at 6:00pm in Brooklyn!

We are excited to be hosting this event, which is designed to be a fun and competitive spelling bee for 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students that attend Brooklyn schools and afterschool programs. A Mini Spelling Bee for 4th, 5th and 6th grade students will precede the High School Spelling Bee!

• Winner: $1,000, Laptop Computer and Trophy
• First: $100 and Medal
• Second: $50 and Medal
• Third: $25 and Medal

• Winner: Mini iPad
• Runner-Up: $100

All participants will receive a prize ribbon!

The Spelling Bee is part of Helping Hands' "Training Up Our Youth” component, which seeks to promote youth enrichment programs that build life skills and character as well as foster social development. The Spelling Bee will help the participating students improve their spelling and reading skills, develop their vocabularies, learn new concepts, enhance oratory and communication skills and develop social skills

The Spelling Bee is free and open to the public; please feel free to invite family, friends and teachers to attend and cheer the spellers on to victory! Light refreshments will be served!

Parental or guardian consent is required for student participation. I hereby give permission for my child to participate in the High School Spelling at The Temple of Restoration on October 4, 2025. I understand that photos will be taken at the event and I hereby grant The Temple of Restoration permission to photograph my child and use such photos in printed and electronic materials related to the High School Spelling Bee only, including The Temple of Restoration social media pages and internal event reports.
