Hidden Waterways of Winchester – Winnall Moors – a guided walking tour

One of the Hidden Waterways walks this summer. Head upstream along the River Itchen to discover how the river has been shaped and harnessed for various uses over time. Enjoy the nature and birdsong in the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust’s Winnall Moors Nature Reserve.

Join one of Winchester’s professional guides for a 90 minute walking tour, starting at Winchester Visitor Information Centre.

This companion tour to The Lockburn on 25th July and Hidden Waterways on 15th August focuses on the River Itchen northwards from the city centre, exploring the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust’s Winnall Moors Nature Reserve. Find out where the elephants used to bathe, learn about the lost Durngate Mill and experience the spring birdlife and nature in the reserve. This walk finishes opposite the Willow Tree pub. Please wear sensible footwear.

Tickets are £12 for adults, £5 for children (under 16) and available in advance through the website or in person on the day at the Visitor Information Centre subject to availability.

Child Ticket - You will need to undertake a separate second transaction to the one used to purchase the adult tickets in your group. When booking for the children select the number of children's tickets you require under general admission category, enter the promotional code CHILD and click apply. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Carer Ticket - Tickets for an essential carer are free. You will need to undertake a separate second transaction to the one used to purchase the other tickets for your group. Please select one ticket under general admission category, enter the promotional code CARERFREE and click apply. This allows the tickets to be purchased for free.
