Hidden Muses of New York Sculpture Walk

There are only a handful of statues of historic women in all of New York City. Yet in the faces of goddesses, angels, and allegorical figures are real women who posed for this art. While many of their features are ubiquitous, their names are obscure. This tour will recover their overlooked stories behind some of the city's most iconic sculptures.

This walk is led by Allison C. Meier, a Brooklyn-based writer and researcher focused on art, architecture, and history. It coincides with the release of the Women's History New York Map from Blue Crow Media. She is a licensed NYC sightseeing guide who regularly leads tours in NYC cemeteries.
