Hidden Herd Presents is Brighton’s new music discovery night, spotlighting the most exciting emerging artists, ones-to-watch and hidden gems. This time, come to The Hope & Ruin for Jeanie and The White Boys, Le Lamb, Telecom and Blousey.
Jeanie and The White Boys
Jeanie and The White Boys have become a London underground cult favourite, gaining fervent support from Iggy Pop and Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 6 Music, as well as Edwyn Collins, who they started recording their debut album with in 2025. If you’ve ever stumbled into a DIY venue, warehouse rave, or sticky-floored dive bar and found yourself hypnotised by a voice that sounded like Debbie Harry fronting a no wave circus, chances are you’ve met Jeanie Crystal or at least felt her energy in the room. As the frontwoman of Jeanie and The White Boys, Jeanie channels something both theatrical and visceral: a punk-glam cabaret of sound, sweat, satire and soul. Her band is part raw noise, part performance art, and entirely unmissable. Think New York Dolls, think Nina Hagen, think Grace Jones doing punk karaoke in a drag dungeon, only louder. Out on the road, Jeanie and The White Boys have supported The Black Lips, Black Honey and The Moonlandingz, and have played festivals including Glastonbury, Mutations and Manchester Psych Fest. They kicked off the year at DIY Magazine’s Hello 2026 alongside Dog Race, Y and ashnymph, and recently toured the UK in February with HotWax, including a date at Brighton’s Chalk.

Le Lamb
Described as “refreshingly odd” by Brighton Source, mysterious art-rockers Le Lamb offer a psychedelic experience like no other - where fans have come to expect the unexpected. The Brighton five-piece have sparked a wildfire of word-of-mouth hype, packing out local venues including The Hope & Ruin, Daltons and The Folklore Rooms. In 2025, they played Homegrown Festival, appeared at the first Hidden Herd x Parallel Lines show at The Rossi Bar headlined by Velvetine, and released their striking debut singles, ‘Sirens Call’ and ‘Healing’ - two theatrical, 60s-inspired introductions to their surreal, spellbinding world. They kicked off this year with an exceptional, full-capacity show at Green Door Store for the venue’s 15th birthday, and recently played a Bad Vibrations Presents night at The Shacklewell Arms - firmly cementing themselves as one of the most exciting new bands around.

Telecom
Blending the lush melodies and harmonies of 60s psych-pop with the sleek textures of contemporary electronica, Telecom are carving out a distinctive niche in the indie music landscape. After a year spent honing their craft on Brighton’s vibrant live scene, the five-piece unveiled their timeless yet forward-thinking sound with the release of their debut single in January 2025. Taking cues from artists like The Kinks and Belle and Sebastian, ‘Mister Mister’ received support from BBC Music Introducing. They later followed it up with ‘Honeybee’, a track that further showcases their rich, melodic sensibility. On stage, they’ve supported the likes of Langkamer and Hot Face, as well as Brighton favourites Youth Sector, Hutch and The Roebucks. With momentum building and a sound that bridges eras, Telecom are fast becoming Brighton’s best-kept secret.

Blousey
Fresh off early tastemaker support from BBC Radio 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and Emily Pilbeam - alongside Apple Music’s Matt Wilkinson, KEXP and So Young Magazine - Blousey are a thrilling art-rock six-piece formed with a single mission: to become the Patron Saints of Fun. Swinging between tender beauty and thrashing rage, their sonic tour through all things deep, dark and mystical never fails to enthral its flock. Live, the band have recently opened for Gretel and Chicago’s Lifeguard with Parallel Lines, following a run of shows across the capital’s key grassroots hotspots, including an appearance at a Bad Vibes All-Dayer at The Shacklewell Arms. They released their debut EP, ‘The Precipice’, in September 2025 - a brilliant four-song collection that makes for the perfect introduction to their exhilarating universe.
