About this Event
From the high-elevation deserts of Coahuila to the ocean-cooled vineyards of Baja California, Mexico is quietly producing some of the most exciting wines in the Western Hemisphere. For this edition of Hidden Cellars, we’re turning our attention south and exploring the producers redefining what Mexican wine can be.
We’ll taste through a focused lineup of small-production cuvées that rarely make it onto Massachusetts shelves: skin-contact whites, nervy high-altitude reds, and unexpected varieties thriving in desert conditions. Along the way, we’ll talk climate, colonization, water, terroir, and the tension between global wine trends and local identity.
This is not a “tourist tasting.” It’s a deep dive into a region that deserves serious attention.
Expect:
• Context on history, climate, and viticulture
• Small-group discussion format
