Hexham's Christmas Lights event is back on Friday, 22nd November! Things warm up from 4.30pm with the lights switch on starting at 5.30pm. Beautiful Hexham will feel truly Christmassy thanks to the switch on of the Christmas Lights PLUS festive music; late opening for Christmas shopping; the launch of the town's Christma trail PLUS the aroma of mulled wine and fresh cinnamon buns!
From 4.30pm-6pm
4.30pm Queen Elizabeth High School and Hexham Middle School Bands and Choirs at the Bandstand in the Abbey Grounds
5.30pm Father Christmas arrives at the Bandstand
*5.40pm* Lights in Abbey Grounds switched on at Bandstand
5.45pm Father Christmas will lead a parade through Fusilier’s Gate and along Beaumont Street to the Abbey Flags
*6.00pm* Countdown and switch on of the Christmas tree in front of Hexham Abbey and the Christmas lights around town
Please note that the section of Beaumont Street from Fusilier's Gate to the Abbey Flags will be closed to traffic from 5.30pm

Late opening in many of Hexham's shops
Launch of the Christmas trail around the town centre
Brass band playing festive music under Shambles in marketplace
Mulled wine and cinnamon buns under the Shambles
