About this Event

HERstory: The Path Forward for Pay Equity

HERstory is an interactive Women’s History Month program focused on workplace equity, equal pay, and the lived experiences of women.

The program features a panel discussion of curated excerpts from Lilly, a 2025 feature film starring Patricia Clarkson as Lilly Ledbetter, whose landmark court case against Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. exposed systemic wage discrimination and helped catalyze national change.

Program Highlights • Welcome and framing from the Commission • Film clips paired with live panel discussion • Audience engagement and reflection • Solutions-focused dialogue • Community partner tabling • Optional testimonial recording

HERstory invites participants not only to listen, but to engage, reflect, and take part in shaping a more equitable future.

Whether you're passionate about closing the wage gap or curious to learn more, this is the place to be. Let’s make HERstory together!

Agenda

🕑: 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM
Doors open for check-in, light refreshments available
🕑: 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM
Welcome, Film & Conversation Panel

Info: HERstory is anchored by curated excerpts from Lilly, a 2025 feature film produced and directed by Rachel Feldman, written by Rachel Feldman and Adam Prince, and starring Patricia Clarkson as Lilly Ledbetter.
The film chronicles Ledbetter’s landmark legal battle against Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., a case that exposed systemic wage discrimination and reshaped the national conversation on pay equity.
Rather than screening the full film, HERSTORY uses select clips as conversation anchors. Each excerpt is followed by moderated discussion and audience engagement, allowing participants to reflect on how the issues raised in the film continue to surface in workplaces today, including within local and municipal contexts.

🕑: 12:15 PM - 01:00 PM
Community Engagement & Social Time, refreshments available

Info: Attendees are invited to engage through
• A testimonial recording station facilitated by Commissioners
• Partner and community organization tables
• Clear calls to action connected to the Commission’s ongoing work
These elements ensure that stories shared during the program can inform future advocacy, policy conversations, and community initiatives while respecting participant consent and agency.
