Join us at Historic Sugartown for HerStory- A Timeline of Women in America. This program brings together female and male living history interpreters from the Atlantic coast, (Maine to Florida), excited to share history from the women’s perspective. This living history encampment will bring the stories of the lives of American women in the nineteenth century to the spotlight through display, demonstration, interpretive performance, and scholarly presentation.
Interpreters will share women’s contributions in Sciences/Technology, Medicine and Wellness, Textiles, Social and Political Changes, and the Arts. Costumed reenactors will share the material culture of women’s lives. Historians will provide lecture format presentations and casual interpretative displays. There will also be hands-on activities for all ages!
Schedules of particular events will be posted as we get closer to the date and the schedules of presenters and reenactors are confirmed.
Admission is $10. Free for children aged 12 and under. Proceeds support Historic Sugartown!
HerStory will take place at various locations on the property of Historic Sugartown, 690 Sugartown Rd., Malvern, PA. The event will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
