You're invited to Heritage Valley, a 1,190-acre nature area near Decorah, for a fall prairie seed harvest!
Together, we’ll hand-harvest native seeds from Heritage Valley’s hillside prairies to help diversify and expand the prairie ecosystem. We'll collect seeds by hand or with clippers, gathering them into buckets or bags. This activity is beloved by our volunteers for its tranquility and the chance to connect more deeply with the prairie. We’ll begin the day with conversation and a brief introduction to Heritage Valley before heading out into the prairie.
