As part of a citywide celebration of Gloucester's history, culture and architecture, The Folk is hosting a programme of fascinating free tours, talks and performances. As always, our 500-year-old Tudor building is open and free to look around and our cafe will be serving delicious freshly prepared lunches, homemade cake and hot and cold drinks. Our schedule is as follows:

FRIDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER
11am – 12pm – Shire News: The Future of Local News?

2 – 3pm – Our Heritage of Song with Robin Burton
3:30 – 4:30pm – Gloucestershire Observed: 500 years of diary entries with Tony Conder

SATURDAY 12TH SEPTEMBER
11am – 12pm – The Story of Imjin River and the 75th Anniversary
12:30 – 1:30pm – Songs from the Workhouse with folk choir Shepherd’s Crook
2 – 3pm – “A Walk through Time”: Stories of the Victorian Docks
3:30 – 4:30pm – Touchwood: the origins of sayings and traditions

2pm (in the main building): Nethra Academy of Performing Arts: performance of Indian classical dance and music
