Have you ever wondered what it looks like behind the scenes at the Archives and Heritage Service where 8 miles of unique archives are stored? Or thought about how these amazing documents are looked after? As part of Heritage Open Days, the service is offering some guided tours behind the scenes and a chance to see some archives relevant to architecture, the HOD’s theme for this year. There will be a chance to talk to staff about the Historic Environment Record and see its new website – an ideal source for any research on buildings. Members of the Family History Society will also be present to answer your questions.
Tours are at 9.30 am 10.45 am and 12 noon and need to be pre-booked as numbers are limited. Please email [email protected] stating your preference.
