Philly belongs to the Philadelphians, not career politicians and because of this I am throwing my hat in the ring.
I am running for Mayor of Philadelphia in the upcoming 2027 election (for the 2028 term), but this campaign isn't about photo ops or rehearsed speeches. It is about you. I am hosting this open-night event because I am here to listen, not to lecture. My only role is to serve as your mirror and your audience and my full platform will be available online and on social media on that morning.
Come out to Penn Treaty Park for an night of neighborhood collaboration. We are going to solve real problems together. I will provide stationary for groups to record their ideas, and we will have a speaker system on site so everyone can be heard clearly.
🤟 Accessibility Note: We want this event to be inclusive of all neighbors. If anyone coming is able to volunteer or bring an ASL or language interpreter, that would be greatly appreciated!
📅 When: Friday, September 11th from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
☔ Rain Date: Friday, September 18th from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
📍 Where: Penn Treaty Park — 1301 N. Beach Street, Philadelphia, PA 19125 (By the intersection of E. Columbia Avenue Beach Street, right off N. Delaware Avenue).
🌳 Penn Treaty Park is a 7-acre waterfront park overlooking the Delaware River and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. It's known as the historic site where William Penn signed a peace treaty with the Lenape Chief Tammany in 1682, establishing a legendary bond of friendship under a historic elm tree.
🛡️ Safety & Vibe: This space is maintained by the Friends of Penn Treaty Park and heavily used by local families and dog walkers. Because urban parks get very quiet after dark, we are keeping our event to the early evening hours for for less noise pollution. Please note there is ongoing regional trail construction nearby along the waterfront.
🎒 What to Bring: This is a casual outdoor night event. Please bring beach chairs, blankets, and flashlights to stay comfortable on the grass. Bring your own snacks and beverages and maybe to share with new friends.
👕 What to Wear: I hardly dress up so dress comfortably and casually!
⏰ How the Night Will Work:
The event opens with a welcome, a 9/11 remembrance, and a keynote speech outlining a collaborative vision for the city. Attendees then pick a major Philadelphia issue from a hat and organically divide into dedicated action groups based on personal interests.
These groups spend time brainstorming solutions while team captains ensure every neighbor's voice is valued. Chosen spokespersons then pitch these collective ideas directly to the crowd using a loudspeaker during an structured community dialogue.
Finally, the evening concludes with remarks explaining how these grassroots plans will directly form the foundation of the 2027 mayoral platform.
Even if some people are down the shore for the weekend, this cozy, focused setting is exactly where real, grassroots change starts. This is your platform, not mine. Let’s build a New Philadelphia together, word by word, neighborhood by neighborhood. Everyone is welcome. See you by the river, and let's form a new treaty of peace!
