Herbie’s 60th Anniversary Celebration…

OK everyone, here is the latest. I managed to have the dates changed from Easter weekend to the week after, April 5-8, 2029, The plan is to start arriving on the 5th to brief everyone on the weekend to follow at the Biloxi Convention Center, Biloxi, MS. We will have the hall that evening so all of the cars can be locked up inside.
The agenda at this time is of course not totally defined, but the plan right now is to have something for us to do into the late evening hours of the 7th, and checking out of the convention center Sunday morning, the 8th. Some of you have expressed an interest in helping with the planning which includes identifying and blocking out hotel rooms, working out the details with Ocean Springs and Bay St. Louis for displaying the cars, having lunch together, etc. If you are serious, now is the time to let me know.
I have already started to work with several overseas companies to make some really nice one-of-a-kind memorabilia, but I know some of you would like to make or possibly see us offer some other items as well. We have plenty of time for most anything we might purchase, but the items I’m looking into will take some time and I want to make sure they are as good as they can be. Again, anyone interested in helping in this area should let me know.
I’m really concerned about the lack of enthusiasm that I have seen online regarding the event. Maybe it was because it was Easter Sunday. Well, that is no longer a problem so now it is up to you. If you want to see this happen, you need to start sending in your contribution now so that I can get a better handle on how many cars/people to expect. As you should know from my previous posts, an account is set up where you can send money weekly, monthly, etc. using Zelle or you can send to my PayPal account. I would like to start putting together a map showing where we can expect people and cars are coming from. This cannot happen unless you get engaged. I do not know when money will be required as down payment of the convention center or other venues we may have, but if there is not enough people signed-up when that time comes, I will simply cancel the event and return everyone’s money.
