Beat the Arizona heat and keep your kitchen blooming with flavor!

Kathy Makgill, Master Gardener & Volunteer with UofA Maricopa County Cooperative Extension , will share how to grow vibrant herbs and micro-greens indoors all summer long - no backyard required.

We will explore a simple, low-cost egg carton setup and a hydroponic garden, showing that indoor growing can work at any budget.

While both will be covered, the focus will be on hydroponic gardening due to its fast growth, up to five times quicker than soil, along with its high success rate and strong satisfaction. Affordable hydroponic options will also be shared, making this approach accessible for beginners.

Then enjoy a live cooking demo with Nate Diemer, Program Coordinator for Urban Agriculture at the UofA Maricopa County Cooperative Extension who will show how to turn your home-grown greens into something delicious. Fresh, easy, and perfect for summer!

UofA Scottsdale Center is located across from Fashion Square Mall, above Culinary Dropout. Free underground parking is available. Park near Elevator B and go to the 2nd level.
