HerArtistry: Reclaiming & Evolving Our Identities
About this Event
Join us as we explore these powerful stories and honor the strength, heritage, and resilience of women.
Her-Artistry highlights how societal norms and pressures have distanced women from their roots and heritage the foundations that shaped who we are today. This exhibition serves as a guiding light for women to reconnect with their roots, rediscover the power of their identity, and celebrate who we are at our core.
In addition to celebrating art and heritage, Her-Artistry is proud to partner with Metrocare to advocate for suicide prevention and mental wellness. Guided by a person-centered philosophy, Metrocare serves as a partner in healing providing responsive, compassionate care that honors the unique needs, values, and preferences of every individual and their support network.
The Experience
The goal of Her-Artistry is to guide Black, Indigenous, and women of all other racial backgrounds to rediscover and redefine their identity. Through art, we aim to explore the resilience of women navigating personal and collective histories.
The exhibition features works centered on the theme of identity: whether returning to one’s roots or repurposing an identity. This space is dedicated to healing, reclaiming power, and transforming how we see ourselves.
Featured Artists
Our 7 featured artists present a range of emotional pieces that connect them back to their identity and heritage, or explore an identity they are keen to transform or reclaim. Through their work, these artists share their personal journeys of self-discovery and empowerment, reflecting on how art serves as a powerful tool for healing and transformation.
