About this Event

Her Voice: A documentary series on Ethiopian women visual artists explores the lives and works of women artists based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as they navigate identity, culture, and creativity within a society that has often overlooked women’s contributions in the arts. Through interviews that center their lives and creative process, the film reveals how art can offer a space of resistance, remembrance, and self-definition. The film explores the everyday realities that these artists navigate, the challenges that they face, and the ways that their personal histories shape and inform their creative processes.

Language: Amharic with English subtitles

Following the screening, enjoy a discussion with the film's producer, Elisabeth H. Wold, and Heran Sereke Brhan,Deputy Director of the National Museum of African Art .
