About this Event
Cemeteries hold more than memory. They hold untold stories.
On this guided tour, we will focus on the women whose work often unfolded behind the scenes but whose influence shaped Flint’s civic, educational, cultural, and philanthropic life.
From Maria Stockton’s founding of the Ladies’ Library Association to Arabella Rankin’s Civil War leadership and newspaper work, from Clarissa Long’s pioneering education of Deaf students to Ruth Mott and Claire White’s lasting cultural philanthropy, these women were builders of institutions, mentors, organizers, and visionaries.
They walked these paths in life. Now they rest here.
Join us as we explore how their overlapping lives formed networks of influence that continue to shape Flint today.
