Learn to swing dance every Monday night! We rotate partners during the beginning lesson so you don't need to come with a partner and it's a wonderful way to meet new people! Come get some exercise and develop a new hobby that will build your confidence. We will be going over 8-count patterns such as the 'Lindy Circle' and the 'Swing-Out'. It's perfect for both beginners and those with experience.
WE did this in August and it was a HUGE success. But wait...we've made it even better! From 6-7pm there will be a Drag Blues dance workshop. Come learn the basics of this awesome slow dance. Included, no extra charge!
WE ARE SO EXCITED TO BE WELCOMING LIVE MUSIC with Richard Bogen's All-Natural Fig Preserves with special guest vocalist Erin Lindsey. It is going to be an incredible night!
In addition to live music, we will be hosting an open mix-n-match dance contest. FREE TO ENTER, a great opportunity to get your feet wet for those that haven't competed much/ever. Sign-Ups at the door. enter as an individual lead/follow, rotate partners throughout the contest, individually judged.
How can we make this evening even better? We will be dimming the lights and slowing things down a bit from 11pm-?? with an hour + of slow Blues with some Soul mixed in. So plan on sticking around, it should be super fun!
Located in a historical building built in 1931, the Guild of the Vale has an awesome wood floor and a vintage feel that will make you want to dance! Street parking as well as the empty lot directly to the west of the building is available for parking.
Beginning Swing Lesson with National Jitterbug Champion Dabney Hopkins from 7:15pm-8:00pm that will be followed by open dancing to AZ's best swing DJs until 11pm (or so...)
Cost is: $30 at the door, $20 in advance through Venmo (@thelindyhopkins)
Cash and Credit (+$1) accepted.
