The walk will start at the newly completed Hendersonville Visitor Center (201 South Main Street) with registration at 9:30 AM and a step off at 10:00. Both a 5 KM and 10 KM option are available and both rated 1B. As always bring water and a snack. Plans for lunch can be discussed as we walk.The 5 KM option includes the down town area with its fascinating shops and restaurants including Kilwins for ice cream and chocolates. The walk then proceeds through interesting neighborhoods including a log cabin to Oakdale Cemetery, the site of the "Look Homeward Angel." Then a return through more interesting neighborhoods and the rest of down town to finish.
The 10 KM option contains all of the above plus a walk, again with more interesting neighborhoods and an old classic home, to Patton Park where you can enjoy a stroll along the waterways there and then return back to finish point.
Directions: Take I-26 to the US 25 Exit. Go right on US 25 and follow it through town to 2nd Avenue. Turn right and Visitor Center and parking are on your left.
