You may have sensed rumblings or felt the winds change over the past few months. You may have noticed a quiet stirring. Well ‘Wings of Desire’, Hemi Hemingway’s sophomore album, was released into the world on 20th February through PNKSLM Recordings - with the help of Secretly Canadian Distribution. And to further celebrate the release, Hemi and his full band are coming back to Te Whanganui-a-Tara to make Meow the site of a sweaty, gothy album launch party on Saturday 18th April, before heading over to the UK/Europe for a month of shows and showcases.
Performing songs from the new album, Hemi & the Snowflakes will also be joined by special guests Dillon Jo and Mercury Fèng (solo) to help with the celebrations.
If you wanna live on the wings of desire, grab your early-bird tickets now from meow.nz!

DILLON JO
https://dillonjomusic.bandcamp.com/
‘Dillon Jo’ is the genre defying project of Wellington Based artists Betty Smith and Georgie Levien. Dillon Jo built paths between the elements of dream pop, shoegaze, folk, alt rock, and indie pop to create their genre defying sound. Having made quite the stir in Te Whanganui-a-Tara recently, playing numerous shows around the motu.
With their catalogue steadily growing and new ideas taking shape, the band has been working on something a little more expansive on the horizon for 2026. Having already been making waves in the Wellington music scene, they believe this next chapter will be a big one, making plans for bigger and bolder live shows.

MERCURY FÈNG
https://xiaofeng.bandcamp.com/
Mercury Fèng (formerly Fèng) transports listeners to intimate dreamscapes by weaving together threads of yearning and introspection with shimmery synths, fuzz-laced guitars and her glassy vocals. In April 2025, MF self-released the album 'archive for humble stones', which saw the single 'Heaving' featured on the NTS Breakfast Show hosted by Flying Nun Records x Tonic.
Lucy 小凤 Beeler, the artist behind the MF persona, has previously released music as Lttle Phnx (a vowel-deficient nod to her middle name), under the now defunct cult label Crystal Magic Records. Mercury Fèng is Beeler's emergence from the ashes as an artist more adventurous and poised.
