Event planed by Simon Rieger, Vienna, Austria, supported by the Austrian HEMA federation and IFHEMA. First event in 2021, 2022 and now 2026!
Location: Planet Earth
Will last: Weekend Saturday, 22nd and Sunday, 23rd of August 2026 (choose one or take both)
HEMA goes public!
One Weekend where we celebrate HEMA and it becomes the mainstream sport No. 1.
Join us with all the other HEMA-groups and peeps in the world and bring our sport to public spaces, parks etc.
Possible ideas for participation:
1. Choose a public space during the weekend (maybe you have to ask for permission).
2. Do some kind of HEMA and have fun.
3. Be friendly and communicate our sport/art to the interested people!
4. Share your event-pics on social media!
5.Find new members for your group.
Local organization:
You are on your own here! Just do what you would like to do. Here are some possibilities
1. Try to communicate with all the other HEMA groups in your area! So you together take as many public spaces over as possible
2. Organize a gettogether of all HEMA groups at the end of the event!
3. Organize the press => see below!
