Help Low-Income Seniors: 4th Annual Zuhri Care Basic Needs Drive

Zuhri Care’s 4th Annual Basic Needs Drive is focused on supporting low-income seniors in Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller counties, many of whom are quietly struggling to make ends meet on fixed incomes.

According to U.S. Census Bureau data, 9.9% of Americans age 65 and older lived below the official poverty line in 2024. When using the broader Supplemental Poverty Measure, which accounts for expenses such as medical costs, the senior poverty rate rises to 15.0%.

Behind those numbers are seniors who may be choosing between food, Medic*tion, hygiene products, household supplies, and other basic needs.

Join us on Saturday, August 1, from 12 PM to 6 PM at The Gite Gallery for an afternoon of giving. If you cannot attend in person, consider purchasing items from the Amazon Wish List.

This year, Zuhri Care is proud to work in partnership with Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels to help get needed items to seniors in our community.

All donations will support seniors in Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller counties.
