More about Dan:
Trained as an actor and musician, Daniel’s foundation is firmly rooted in live performance. He has appeared in award-winning one-man shows, large-scale musicals and Shakespearean theatre, developing a performance language that moves fluidly between spoken word, character and song. His solo work is known for its immediacy and emotional clarity, using music not as an accompaniment but as a narrative engine — weaving melody and story into a single expressive form.
Alongside his work on stage, Daniel is a writer and producer whose stories have been commissioned and performed at major venues including the Baxter Theatre and Artscape Theatre, and presented internationally at festivals such as the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Adelaide Fringe and the Melbourne Comedy Festival. He writes and performs his own music, drawing audiences into stories that are personal yet expansive, intimate yet resonant.
Daniel is also the Creative Director of the Ruben Richards Foundation, a South African non-profit organisation using art, dialogue and storytelling as tools for healing and social connection. He is a trained facilitator with Men’s Circle, and regularly leads creative workshops in schools through Performing International Plays and Dash Arts in the UK. In addition, he works with CMT, supporting communication, presence and storytelling through performance-based training, bringing theatrical tools into professional and educational spaces.
More on the Show:
HELLO AND GOODBYE reflects Daniel’s varied live performance practice: part concert, part theatre, part conversation. Joined on the night by a special guest performer, the show embraces collaboration, spontaneity and connection. Set within the warmth of Alma Café, the evening invites audiences into a shared space of listening, laughter and reflection — where stories are sung, spoken and felt.
This is a night about arrivals and departures, beginnings and endings — and everything we carry in between.
