About this Event
Hello, AI: A Hands-On Workshop for the Lamorinda Community
What is AI, really? How does it work? How should your kids be using it — and what should you be worried about?
Join us for a free, hands-on workshop designed for students, parents, and anyone in the Lamorinda community who wants to understand AI — not just the hype, but the practical reality.
What we'll cover:
- What AI actually is and how it works (in plain English)
- Hands-on demos: useful ways to use AI right now
- The risks: hallucinations, manipulation, and what to watch out for
- Jobs of the future: what skills will matter for today's students
- Where we go from here as a community
Featured Speakers:
- Jake Kring — CTO, Skylight
- Katherine Tomko — Former Head of Privacy, Meta
- Jordan Gimbel — Associate General Counsel, Microsoft AI
Bring your laptop. This is interactive — we'll be learning by doing.
Entry is by donation to AUHSD (Acalanes Union High School District).
All ages welcome. No technical background required.
