2024 RACE INFO
Get ready to sprint, jog, or walk your way to victory at this year's PARIS OLYMPICS-THEMED Heights of Hope 5k and 1.5 Mile Fun Run! Whether you're aiming for gold, or enjoying a leisurely walk with neighbors, pushing a stroller, or jogging with your kids, there's a pace for everyone at this inspiring event.
RACE TIMES:
5k - 5:30pm
1.5 Mile - 6:30pm
AFTER PARTY:
The HOH 5k is part race, part community block party with a festive atmosphere worthy of champions! Stick around after your event to cheer on other racers while indulging in a pulled pork dinner from Earl's Meats, hand picked blueberries, some delicious Biggby iced coffee and ice cream from Holland Police Department's Polar Patrol. (Food and drinks are complementary for all participants and volunteers. Spectators can pay a small fee for dinner.)
AWARDS CEREMONY:
An awards ceremony will take place after the finish of the 1.5 mile race featuring prestigious awards, gleaming medals, iconic podium flowers, and exciting raffle prizes. Be there to witness greatness and claim your well-deserved recognition! Must be present to win, but you won't want to miss it anyway!
RACE CHECK-IN:
Pick up bibs, t-shirts, and race essentials from 4-7pm on Friday, 8/9 at Calvary on 8th, and before races.
ONLINE REGISTRATION DEADLINE:
Secure your spot in history by registering online before Thursday, 8/8 at 12 pm. On-site registration will be available on Friday at Race Check-In or on race day from 3-5pm for the 5k or 3-6pm for the 1.5 mile.

Register by July 28 to guarantee your exclusive race t-shirt!

Your registration fee supports the work of Heights of Hope in our community. Thank you!
Individual 5K and 1.5 mile registrations are $25 until July 28 or $30 starting July 29.
Registration for SOAR residents (must live on Stratford, Oxford, Abbey Ct, Country Ln) and Heights Boys and Girls Club members -$10
DISCOUNTS:
Receive a $5 discount per person for groups or families of 5 or more that pay together. Invite your friends and neighbors. We love community!
Receive a $5 discount if you choose not to order a race t-shirt if you register by July 28. But the shirts are so cool, you'll probably want one.
AWARDS GALORE:
Awards to the top three in-person 5k finishers in each age and gender category and in the stroller division (kid in stroller, adult pushing!) and wheelchair division. Team trophies for fastest team and most participants. Age groups: 6 and under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, etc. There's also a trophy for the volunteer "Road Warriors" who bring the most spirit and hype to their corner, and a trophy for the participant(s) who shows the most enthusiasm - costumes encouraged!
The 1.5 mile race is not timed and there will be no speed awards, but all 1.5 mile racers receive a finisher's ribbon.
ROUTE AND PARKING:
Both the 5k and 1.5 mile routes begin and end at Calvary Church (995 E 8th Street in the heart of Holland Heights) and wind through the Abbey Court/Stratford Way neighborhood and past the Heights of Hope Community Center. See route maps below. Parking is available on streets that aren't along the race route and down the road at Holland Heights Church. Please plan some extra time to get to the race start. We wouldn't want you to miss out on the pre-race excitement!
VOLUNTEERS:
Join our team of volunteers to ensure a seamless and memorable event! We work hard to ensure our volunteers also have a great time. Volunteers receive a pulled pork meal and Biggby iced coffee, and are registered in our raffle and count towards team totals for awards. There's even a coveted Road Warrior Trophy that goes to the most enthusiastic and well-themed corner along the race route! Volunteers may also request a race t-shirt for $10. Fill out a volunteer registration to join the team!
DOG POLICY:
Dogs are welcome at our races, however, we ask that you follow these guidelines if you plan to bring your furry friend along:
*Dogs must be neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines, well-behaved, and non-aggressive with people, children, other dogs, and lawn flamingos.
*Dogs must be on a 6 foot or less leash at all times.
*Runners with dogs must stay to the side or back of our starting chute.
*Only one dog per runner or walker.
*Pet handlers must be 18 years or older. No children are allowed to walk dogs on race day.
