Join us as we watch the award winning documentary "Heightened Scrutiny" with a debrief discussion afterwards.
About this Event

Heightened Scrutiny follows Chase Strangio, ACLU attorney and the first out trans person to argue before the Supreme Court, as he fights a high-stakes legal battle to overturn Tennessee's ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth (L.W. v. Skrmetti).

The film exposes the dangerous role of mainstream media on fueling anti-trans legislation, uncovering how biased coverage drives hate, endangers lives, and threatens democracy itself.

Our discussion following the screening will debrief the film and dive into the intersection of gender and racial justice and our ongoing work to support vulnerable communities. This discussion will be led by Hallie Cohen, Senior Coordinator of Prevention and Training, and Roger Moreano, Senior Director of the Equity Institute.
