Hedgerow Planting at The Oval - Volunteer Day (Lunch Provided)

🌱 Volunteer Opportunity: Help Plant a New Hedgerow at The Oval! 🌱

We’re excited to announce one of our many incredible ecology initiatives at The Oval, and we need your help! Join us on Friday, 29th November 2024, or Saturday, 30th November 2024, from 10am to 5pm, to plant 750 saplings, generously awarded to us by The Tree Council. These saplings will form a thriving multi-species hedgerow as part of our wildlife corridor and nature recovery plans.

The new hedgerow will feature a variety of native species, including holly, hazel, crab apple, downy birch, hawthorn, goat willow, dogwood, wild cherry, silver birch, and rowan. These plants will provide an abundance of fruit and berries for small mammals and birds, while also offering crucial habitat for bees and other insects in our urban environment! 🌿🐝
