Fostering Bangladesh 2.0
Bangladesh is navigating a period of transformation, where informed dialogue, critical thinking, and constructive policy discourse are more important than ever. With the aim of fostering meaningful intellectual engagement among university students, the Health Economics Debating Club (HEDC) presents HEDC Inter Department Policy Debate Conclave 2026, themed “Fostering Bangladesh 2.0.”
The Conclave will bring together debaters from across the University of Dhaka to engage in thought-provoking debates on contemporary policy issues and the challenges shaping Bangladesh’s future.
The motions will focus on six key areas of Bangladesh’s ongoing transformation:

1.Healthcare Reform & Advancement
2.Education & Human Capital Development
3.Governance, Law & Institutional Reform
4.Economic Growth & Revitalization
5.Science, Technology & Innovation
6.Foreign Affairs & Global Engagement

Preliminary Rounds: 4
Semi-Final: 8 teams
Final: 4 teams
Date: 3-4 October 2026
Eligibility: Any Department/Institute of the University of Dhaka
Registration Fee: To Be Announced

Through this platform, HEDC aims to encourage students to engage with important national issues, challenge existing perspectives, and develop thoughtful, well-informed arguments about the future of Bangladesh.
We look forward to bringing together young voices from across the University of Dhaka for two days of meaningful debate and discussion.
