HEAVY MEDICINE + SPECIAL GUESTS DANNI K
Cherry Bar | Saturday 28 November 2026
Get ready for a dose of HEAVY MEDICINE. Michael Pollitt, aka Mr Black & Blues, brings his psychedelic voodoo blues and rock ’n’ roll soul to Cherry Bar, celebrating the release of his latest album, Love Is. Music Is. We Are.
A multiple award-winning artist, Pollitt was named Rhythms Magazine’s Australian Artist of the Year in 2014, also taking home Best Australian Album and Best Australian Blues Album honours. His latest release landed at #3 on the Independent Charts, following a huge European tour in 2026.
Backed by an all-star band featuring Shane O’Neill (Widowbirds, Oohlala, The Pigs) on drums and Ady Fry (John Butler Trio) on bass, HEAVY MEDICINE serves up a potent mix of psychedelic blues, rock ’n’ roll grit and deep-pocket grooves. Expect blistering slide guitar, mystical storytelling and a sound that swings between soulful swagger and full-throttle intensity.
Recorded over eight days at Mark Opitz’s OneMusic Asia studio, Love Is. Music Is. We Are. captures the band firing on all cylinders across 14 original tracks and two reimagined classics, all penned by Pollitt.
Joining the bill are very special guests Danni K and her band.
Danni K is an emerging Country/Rock singer-songwriter whose heartfelt storytelling and honest lyricism are quickly making her a name to watch in Australian Music.
