The Ballad of the Quick and the Hungry:
When a hotshot guitar player and a lapsed cellist start a family band, magical things happen. After the births of their daughters (4 days apart) in 2005 and their sons (12 days apart) in 2008, Maggie Stephens and Frank Webster began entertaining their kids, spouses, and anyone who would listen with Texas country, blues, folk, and rock favorites. Soon they were writing their own original songs, and The Quick and the Hungry was born.
With tight harmonies, ear-worm melodies, and clever lyrics, their music fills your ears with joy and invites you to sing along. You can find them playing in and around their hometown of Austin, Texas or at their favorite place, the Kerrville Folk Festival.
About Heather Miller:
Acoustic folk songstress Heather Miller’s body of work has been described as “songs of connection,” perfectly capturing the essence of her talent and dedication to the craft. Her coffeeshop confessional style of storytelling ranges from quirky to candid with a good dose of earnest heartbalm.
Heather has released Anchor EP (2012), Ornaments & Memories EP (2019), and a live radio studio recording, Heather Miller Live at KOOP (2020). Her debut full-length album, Count it in Moons (2023), landed at #48 on the Folk DJ charts for the month of September and was the #6 Americana Highways Favorite Albums of 2023 Readers' Pick. Having grown up in Iowa, Heather has made the vibrant Austin, Texas music scene her home since 2015.
