Join Thrivent Member Network – Front Range Region and Serve 6:8 for Hearts & Hands in Action: Wildfire Relief Service Event, a hands-on Serve Day supporting families impacted by the recent Aspen Acres Fire and the ongoing flood risk from the burn scar.
Together, volunteers will put generosity into action through two meaningful service opportunities: making sandbags to help protect affected families from potential flooding and assembling Disaster Kits to support households recovering after more than 260 homes were destroyed or damaged.

• Date/Time: Saturday, August 29, 2026, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
• Arrival: Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to check in, sign the waiver, and be ready for the 9:00 AM kick-off
• Location: SERVE 6.8, 5701 McWhinney Blvd., Loveland, CO 80538
• Sandbag volunteers: Meet first at the SERVE 6.8 Warehouse for instructions and details about the sandbag site location

Two service opportunities to choose from:

• Operation Sandbag: Volunteers will work outdoors from approximately 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM to make sandbags that help families prepare for flood risk from the Aspen Acres Fire burn scar. This opportunity is open to ages 14 and up due to the use of heavy machinery. It is a more physical service activity, though tasks will be available for a variety of skill levels. Long pants and closed-toed shoes are required. Please bring sunscreen, a water bottle, and snacks.
• Disaster Kit Assembly: Volunteers will assemble practical Disaster Kits inside the SERVE 6.8 Warehouse from approximately 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM to support households recovering after wildfire damage. This opportunity is open to all ages. Please feel free to bring a water bottle and snacks. Water, snacks, supplies, and materials will also be provided.

Lunch will be served around 12:30 PM. Come ready to serve, connect, and offer practical help and hope to neighbors facing wildfire recovery and flood preparedness.

This is a family friendly event. We encourage all generations to participate. For the safety and comfort of everyone, children under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.
