About this Event
The 3rd Annual Heartland Book Festival kicks off on Friday, October 10, at the Woodneath Library Center with award-winning author Percival Everett in conversation about his latest novel, James.
Percival Everett shares his thoughts on his latest novel, James, published in March 2024 to great critical acclaim, winning both the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Everett’s novel is not just a reimagining of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn from the enslaved Jim’s point of view; it offers deeper insights into American culture.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy live music by Eddie Moore and light refreshments. Author talk begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by a book signing. Each attendee will receive a free copy of James. Additional titles by the author will be available for purchase at the event.
Admission is free, but tickets are required.
