Hear from Steve: What It Really Means to Be Involved in Research
About this Event
Come and find out what it really means to be involved in health research.
We are a research team from the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow studying the costs of care for people living with long-term health conditions in Scotland. We want to make sure our research reflects what matters to real people — and that means hearing from people like you.
What to expect:
We are hosting a relaxed coffee afternoon at Byres Community Hub in Glasgow where you can:
- Hear from Steve, a patient advocate and cancer survivor, who will talk honestly about his experience of being involved in health research and why it has been meaningful to him
- Find out more about our research study and what it involves
- Ask questions in a friendly, informal setting
- Find out about opportunities to get more involved going forward as part of our Patient and Public Involvement Group
Who is this for?
Anyone with a long-term health condition, or who cares for someone with one, is welcome. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience of receiving care at home.
