About this Event

Join us for an exclusive tour series exploring health and wellness at the Ten Broeck Mansion. This special tour "Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise" offers a look at some of the spaces and practices which played a critical role in everyday health in the 1700s and 1800s. Discover hidden drains and linen cupboards and other evidence informing us about changing attitudes towards health and wellness in Albany.

We suggest an additional 20-30 minutes to explore our historic gardens on your own with self-guided tours and browse our museum shop of local artisan goods and books.

Please join us for our upcoming online lecture series exploring women and health on November 13 and 20. Lecture registration coming August 2026.

Presenter Dr. Tina Peabody: holds a PhD in history from the University at Albany, SUNY, and is a specialist in the history of the urban environment in the United States. Her dissertation, Wretched Refuse, examines the history of waste management in New York City and her work has been featured in Agricultural History and the edited volume Coastal Metropolis.
