Healthcare at a Crossroads Regional Conference

Tri-Cities Citizens for Improved Healthcare (TCCIHC) in conjunction with Appalachian Peace Education Center (APEC) is offering a one-day conference to share information and mobilize people to address barriers that impact cost and access to affordable healthcare in our rural region. The event is free and open to the public.

Featured speaker will be northeast Tennessee native Wendell Potter, former Communications Director for CIGNA insurance, and nationally recognized author of books advocating for health insurance payment reform.

Bruce Behringer, well-known in the region for his work as founder of Virginia Primary Care Association, as well as the Office of Rural Health and Community Programs at East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine, will serve as panel moderator and facilitator for group discussion.

Other panelists will share perspectives as patients, physicians, pharmacists, hospital and health system administrators and public health experts. Local and regional organizations will participate as exhibitors to share information about community initiatives and resources.

There is no cost to attend the conference.
